OLIVE LEAVES FEED ANIMALS

OLIVE LEAVES FEED ANIMALS

In the framework of olive cultivation pruning trees after harvesting is common practice. Pruning is focused on fruit bearing branches which next year will only give new vegetation, thus no yield will be lost. Branch residues are disposed of as cattle feed; animals eat the leaves while they are still fresh and what’s left is used for stove cooking and firewood. Hence it becomes clear that all parts of this blessed tree are traditionally used by our society.
